Banner advertising consists of various sections or places designed to place an ad on a website. The ad is a long rectangular, either vertical or horizontal banner shape content which is usually kept at the top or bottom of a website or vertically along the side of a website, next to the main content. The ad consists of an image (.jpg, .png, .gif) or of a multimedia object (created using Flash). A banner ad can be animated, depending on the requirement of the client.
